Beyond the Beard!

So, let’s talk about the elephant in the room - my beard. It seems like every time I catch up with friends and acquaintances lately, the first topic of discussion isn’t about how I’m doing or what’s new in my life. Nope, it’s all about the facial hair.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind a compliment or a curious inquiry now and then. But when it becomes the sole focus of our conversation, it’s a bit, well, shallow. I mean, come on, there’s more to me than just the fuzz on my face.

What’s even more frustrating is when these conversations happen with friends who have settled in first-world countries like the US. You’d think living in a progressive society would broaden one’s perspective, right? Wrong. Some of them still cling to these backward notions that prioritize appearance over substance.

And then there was this recent two-minute interaction with a friend I hadn’t seen in 20 years. You’d think we’d have a lot to catch up on after two decades, right? Well, not quite. The first thing out of their mouth? “What happened to your hair and beard?” And just like that, I found myself giving an explanation as if I owed one. (Face palming)

To my friends across the pond, I say this: Let’s step up our game. There’s a whole world of meaningful conversations out there waiting to be had. Let’s move beyond the superficial and engage in dialogues that actually matter. Whether it’s discussing our dreams, aspirations, or the state of the world, let’s aim for depth over shallowness.

So, next time we catch up, how about we skip the beard talk and dive into something more meaningful? Trust me, we’ll both be better off for it.

My recent Fav cartoon!

Recently I have been following the daily cartoon strips of 'big NATE' by Lincoln Peirce. It's all about the kid Nate and his acts. There are many cartoons which surrounds a kid(s), like my most favorite 'Calvin and Hobbes', then 'Grand Avenue'. These are so simple and cute.

Technically speaking, it's Factless Facts!

Hi,
It has been a very long time since I have penned down some crazy stuff.
This blog comes from the idleness of my mind. I may not be able to discuss the ‘who-why-where-when-what-how’ with you all, coz I don’t care about the 5W’s 1H, but I can share the facts with you all.

First and foremost; if YOUR shoe size is 9, YOU should NOT expect others to be comfortable with the same size.
Judge a person before expressing your love/care to him.
Every individual has his own way of dealing with things, respect that.
Every relationship has to be nourished with a respectful investment of time.

I always wonder – ‘What did Buddha get under the Gaya tree? Who showed the path to nirvana?’ Sheer knowledge... what does that mean, understanding people well? Knowing the truth of survival of the mankind? Maybe I can find the answer if I take up Buddhism or maybe I do have a little idea about it.

I am still an atheist, thank God.

Hi guys, before thinking to write a post like this, I never thought it this way. First I got this heading finalized and then started to think on it, which took a little more time than usual.
So …
Am I an atheist??? hmmm … Am I a theist? hmmm … can’t settle on a particular idea. Anyway that doesn’t matter, life doesn’t stop. I tend to think of such things often. I pray to God everyday, I also wear some religious threads and malas but why exactly am I doing this? I think it’s just a hope that we create for ourselves so as everything has to be going good. But does anyone really make that good happen to me. I guess yes there
is always one person responsible for my well being or destruction. And that would be ME. I strongly believe that whatever we do in the present carries to the past and the past carries to our future, that’s a sensible cycle. I hope you got my point there. So, why do I follow the rituals? "Well we are social animals and we need to follow certain rules set by the society." Sorry, but I don’t believe in this crap, I don’t stop doing anything because my neighbor doesn’t like it. Then why do I do it? Hmmm …
